Payment & Cancellation Policy

These are the Terms & Conditions of our Payment Schedule/Cancellations Policy:
Payment: The $100 application fee must accompany the Application for acceptance and is non-refundable, and not applicable to tuition. Upon notification of acceptance into the program, an online Enrollment with applicable program deposit (payable by credit card) is required within 10 days to secure enrollment. The balance of the tuition, refundable fees, and optional fees, invoiced by mail and emailed, are due by April 1, payable by check, money order or wire transfer only. Bank charges incurred are the responsibility of the student/parent. Junior Discovery will credit only the actual payment in U.S. dollars credited to Junior Discovery by The First National Bank of Long Island. Credit cards are accepted only for the application fee and the online deposit. Credit cards are not accepted for the balance of tuition or any other supplemental fees. Full payment is due upon enrollment for students who apply after April 1.

Fees

  • Student ID/technology fee of $70 is invoiced upon enrollment.
  • Airport transportation fees: Roundtrip airport transportation fees (variable by location) are added to the student's invoice upon enrollment. This fee is optional and will be removed if transfers are not needed upon completion of the Transportation Form in the spring.
  • International Student Registration Fee: All international students living outside the Unites States and attending a program in the U.S., will be assessed a non-refundable International Registration Fee of $295. This fee includes health/medical insurance coverage (with deductible) while attending Junior Discovery and airport meet and assist/airport transfers in the U.S.

Cancellation: The balance of the tuition, refundable fees, optional fees, and airline fees are due by April 1, or upon enrollment if enrolling after April 1. Full payment must be received by April 1 to guarantee enrollment status.

  • Cancellation before March 1 results in a $500 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellation after March 1 to April 1 results in a $1,000 cancellation fee plus cost of non-refundable airline ticket issued by Musiker Travel.
  • Cancellation after April 1 to May 1 results in a $2,000 cancellation fee plus the cost of non-refundable airline ticket issued by Musiker Travel.
  • Cancellation after May 1 until June 1 results in a $3,000 cancellation fee plus the cost of non-refundable airline ticket issued by Musiker Travel and fees for optional excursions.
  • There are no refunds for cancellation after June 1.

Program/Campus Change Fees: The following fees will be charged for any Summer Discovery, Discovery Internships, or Jr.Discovery program and/or campus change. This includes changing from a Summer Discovery program to a Discovery Internship program OR from a Discovery Internship program to a Summer Discovery program. After internship placement is complete for Discovery Internship students, no changes are permitted.

  • $500 change fee prior to March 1
  • $750 change fee from March 1 prior to April 1
  • $1000 change fee from April 1 prior to May 1
  • $1500 change fee from May 1 prior to June 1

After June 1, no program changes are permitted.

Program changes are subject to availability.
